After arriving in Huermeda, we decided we would go to the hot springs at Alhama de Aragon. It's only about 35 kilometers from Huermeda, and we got to the town pretty quickly, but it took us a long time to find the spa hotel we were looking for - Balneario Termas Pallares. This is despite the fact that we drove past a giant sign that said "Balneario Termas Pallares" right when we got to town.

In our failing to find it (after passing it), we drove across the river, realized we had gone too far, and came back over the bridge. We then went the opposite direction from the hotel and drove down a bunch of little alleys to the point where it became obvious we had gone down a one way, no outlet street, so Vernon ended up backing the rental car up about 100 meters to where we could turn around.

We finally made it back downtown where we had seen some restaurants and parked the car, then we walked to where the big sign that read "Balneario Termas Pallares" to find the place called Balneario Termas Pallares. In retrospect, it's not surprising that we found Balneario Termas Pallares there.

After a lot of discussion in Spanish, we arranged for access to the hot springs lake and a massage each for Vernon and Alison. We walked across the highway and found this beautiful, hot springs-fed lake.

We had great fun swimming there.

It was pretty difficult to get the kids out of the lake when it was time to go.

Vernon and Alison took turns with their massages, which were so gentle that they were more like "oilings" than like what we were used to as massages. It was still nice to be away from the children in a quiet room for an hour.

Most of our time was spent in the lake, but it's a really nice area to walk around in.

The lake was not a chlorinated swimming pool - it was full of happy fish.
