Auckland
After driving from Ayer's Rock to Alice Springs, we say goodbye to Australia
and flew to Auckland, on the north island of New Zealand. We spent
a day there before our trip to Nelson and the beginning of our motorcycle
tour.

Auckland has a great museum. It's a beautiful building on a very
high point of land. We saw a bunch of stuff there about Maori culture,
including a demonstration of some dancing and songs, and they just happened
to be having a motorcycle show, too!
The highlight of the motorcycle show at the Auckland Museum was the
Motorized Unicycle, or "Mike".
This is a Britten motorcycle. There were only a handful of them ever
built, and they are insanely fast:
