Next, it was time to get ready for our flight to Istanbul. Vernon was in charge of packing up all the electronics. That's two iPads, the famous blackberry, the (new) Nintendo DS, two cameras, four audio headsets, a headset splitter, a USB quick charger, an iPad SDHC card reader, and umpteen power cords.

The day we were getting ready to leave Georgia, Eero's loose tooth finally came out! It was the top front tooth to your right in this photo - as you can see, the permanent tooth had already been there for a while, sharing the spot. (Eero's tooth is in the bag in the second picture, circled in red.)

Eero knew he would be going to bed in Istanbul that right, so he wrote a letter to the Turkish tooth fairy.

"Dear Tooth Fairy, can you give me a Turkish Lira. Love, Eero"

Finally we were off to the airport. We found that the Tbilisi airport as well as the Madrid one, there's a security screening right at the front door, and then every gate has its own metal detector and x-ray machine (a nice contract for some security equipment firm). So once you go into the gate area, you're stuck there until the plane leaves, unless you want to go through security again. Fortunately at our gate there was a little play area, which kept our kids totally engaged until it was time to board.
